He did his M.Sc.in Botany in 1983 and M.Phil. in 1984 from Panjab University, Chandigarh. His area of specialization in research is 'Embryological and Anatomical studies in Grasses'. He has published 06-research papers in National & International reputed journals. He is Founder & Life Member of Indian Association of Biology Teachers (Colleges), Life Member of Panjab University alumni relations & Life Member of Panjab University Botany Department alumni association. He has also acted as member, board of Undergraduate Studies in Botany in Panjab University for the term 2002-03 and 07- times Panjab University Examinations Paper Setter in B.Sc. (General) in Botany from 2010-16. Presently, he is HOD in Botany and having more than 25 years teaching experience. He is engaged in many important assignments of the college like Bursar, Dy. Dean (Examinations) and Incharge, National Environment Awareness Campaign Programme run by Punjab State Council of Science & Technology.
